Viva Films and Ten17P, together with the streaming platform, Netflix, announce the release of their new romantic flick, Alter Me, which stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Enchong Dee, and JC Santos. While the film is yet to be available across Asia (Mark your calendars – it premieres on November 15, 2020), the trailer was released today.
Alter Me is a heartfelt film that explores the “alter world”. If you’re social media-savvy, you’ve probably already heard about this part of the internet where people lose their inhibitions. If this is an entirely new concept to you, then you’re in for a treat.
The film revolves around an HR specialist played by Jasmine Curtis-Smith, who seeks the help of a coveted male escort in order to learn how to form connections with people. Like a good romantic film goes, they eventually bond and develop feelings for one another.
The film was directed by RC Delos Reyes, who also brought us some of our rom-com favorites like Marry, Marry Me and Love the Way U Lie. He says of the film, “Nowadays, in the advent of technology and social media, we put on different masks and we create our own worlds. Hoping, that in that world we would be able to find the love and fulfillment we have always been seeking. Not realizing that the true change or ‘altering’ we have to do is always dependent on who we are and how honest we are to ourselves.”
