Some of the country’s finest actors, singers, and directors joined forces at the “Gabi ng Himala: Mga Awit at Kwento,” live on the ABS-CBN Film Restoration Facebook page, April 21.

Presented to you by the Lockdown Cinema Club, Ricky Lee Scriptwriting Workshop, and Sagip Pelikula, the said event is an online fundraising drive for displaced low-income, no-work-no-pay film workers.

Nadine Lustre, Piolo Pascual, Angelica Panganiban, Maja Salvador, Jerico Rosales, Jodi Sta. Maria, Marian Rivera, Shaina Magdayao, Iyah Mina, and more stars gave their interpretation of the scenes from Nora Aunor’s classic film “Himala.”

“Himala” is a film directed by Ishmael Bernal and written by Ricky Lee. It is about a woman named Elsa who seems to manifest miraculous healing powers after seeing the blessed Virgin Mary.

These artists collaborated with the Philippine film giants and directors Lav Diaz, Olivia Lamasan, Bb. Joyce Bernal, Dan Villegas, Petersen Vargas, Ricky Davao, Dingdong Dantes, and Sigrid Andre Bernardo.

Lea Salonga, Bituin Escalante, and Aicelle Santos also rendered powerful musical performances during the initiative hosted by Bianca Gonzalez and Ryan Agoncillo.

Meanwhile, “Himala” executive producer Charo Santos-Concio, award-winning writer Ricky Lee, veteran director Joel Lamangan, and the Superstar herself Nora Aunor led the online panel discussion.

Through Nadine’s expressive eyes and the calm but painful delivery of lines from the iconic and timeless “Walang Himala” monologue, the grand slam best actress has proven time and again that she is indeed the best actress of her generation as the critics say.

In 2019, Nadine bagged four best actress trophies, three of which came from her critically acclaimed performance in “Never Not Love You” with Multimedia Prince James Reid.

Nadine and Nora are two of four artists who won the Young Critics Circle, FAMAS, and Urian awards in a single year.
