Marco Gumabao showed support to sister, Michele, who was the Miss Universe Philippines bet from Quezon City. In an interview with Phoemela Baranda in Viva TV’s Anong Ganap, when asked about what he thinks about her sister joining the pageant, he simply and confidently said, “Knowing her, she lives for the pressure.”
We all know that Filipinos are crazy about beauty pageants, with Miss Universe being one of the most awaited events every year. So it came as no surprise that it was one of the most talked about things that happened this weekend.
But even before getting into pageants, Michele has already been in the public eye, as she was co-captain of Lady Spikers, the De La Salle University women’s volleyball team, then went on to play pro with Creamline. Michele may not have been crowned Miss Universe Philippines, but she finished the pageant with grace as she was finished 2nd runner-up. (As expected, she put up a good fight!)
Marco, being the loving brother that he is, also shared his thoughts on social media, by sending his love and support for his sister in an Instagram story saying, “Proud of you! Of course, I don’t agree with the decision, but now’s not the time to be bitter about it. I know this is God’s plan. We’re just getting started.”
Marco is currently working on a project alongside Xian Lim and Kylie Verzosa. It was recently revealed that he would be playing a character named “Robi” in #ParangKayoPeroHindi. (More details to come soon!)
