More than an exceptional dance musical film, “Indak” is about following your passion, finding yourself, facing your fears, and fighting for your dreams.
“Pag nakita niyo ‘yung mga dance prods na ginawa, as in pati kami napapa-wow sa ginagawa nila. Tsaka I think it’s the story. ‘Yung kwento talaga ang magdadala ng film,”Indak” director Paul Basinillo said.
Starring two of the most talented artists of their generation, Nadine Lustre and Sam Concepcion, “Indak” is about a simple island girl named Jen (Nadine), who loves dancing,
but never showed her true talent to anyone.
“Nung pinitch siya sa akin, I got really excited. I think mostly because makakapag-work shop ulit ako and I know na makakabalik ulit ako sa pagsasayaw na matagal ko nang gustong gawin ulit,” the Multimedia Princess shared.
Jen’s dancing went viral online and Vin (Sam), leader of”Indak Pinas” invites her to come to Manila and join them. Not confident with her own talent, Jen hesitated to accept Vin’s invitation at first.
“I was very excited. Hindi naman ako tumigil sumayaw completely, but to go back to dancing and train again, be around dancers,” the total performer stated.
According to the lead stars, the “Indak Pinas” team is composed of the best dancers from different parts of the country. Every member shows the passion and the drive to reach the ultimate goal – win the world dance championship.
“Ito ‘yung kwento ng everybody who dreams to become world-class and wants to compete in the world stage,” the well-known concert director added.
The process of making the most epic dance movie of the year is no joke. The whole “Indak Pinas” crew had to train hard and rehearse for the dance routines before the filming day itself.
“Maraming araw na sumakit ang katawan ko. Maraming araw na sumakit ang ulo ko kaka-memorize ng dance steps, but then, at the end of the day, it’s another skilled learned eh,” the multi-awarded actress admitted.
“Indak” is definitely a feast for the eyes and ears. Aside from the amazing choreography and great soundtrack, it also featured the beautiful Bantayan Island in Cebu and the scenic South Korea.
“Para sa akin, ang pinaka dapat abangan ng mga manonood is ‘yung inspiration I guess na ibibigay nitong movie na ‘to. After mong panoorin, mai-inspire ka na gawin ‘yung mga gusto mong gawin. Mai-inspire ka to be your very best,” Nadine revealed.
