Less than a month before we witness the most epic dance movie of the year, “Indak,” people are curious how is this different from other international films with the same genre.
Starring Multimedia Princess Nadine Lustre and total performer Sam Concepcion, “Indak,” is a story of dreamers facing their fears and stepping out of their comfort zones.
Nadine will play the character of “Jen,” an island girl who takes the risk of leaving her province life to chase her dreams while battling her insecurities along the way.
Sam, on the other hand, will portray “Vin,” a city boy who convinces “Jen” to be a part of their dance group, “Indak Pilipinas,” with a dream to compete abroad.
During the #IndakBlogCon earlier this afternoon, Sam was asked if he is feeling any pressure when “Indak” is being compared to the “Step-Up” franchise.
“I guess it’s inevitable,” he said.
According to him, what sets “Indak” apart from other dance films is the presence of Filipino values in it.
“[N]andito pa rin ‘yung Filipino element of it. At the very core, it’s still a story about love and passion, and family.
The total performer cited the fact that it features one of the breathtaking islands in the Philippines, Bantayan. He also mentioned how the music plays a huge part in the movie.
“May soundtrack ‘yung ‘Indak’ and we use original music, and so that adds a Filipino flavor sa movie,” he added.
Speaking of original songs, watch the official music video of the movie’s “Sumayaw Sa Indak” OST featuring Nadine, Sam, Pio Balbuena, Shehyee, and the rest of “Indak Pilipinas” crew.
Directed by Paul Basinillo, “Indak” is showing on August 7 in cinemas nationwide! For more updates, click here! In the meantime, you can watch the trailer below!
