Filipinos have shared many lunches with Billy Crawford. Although not literally, it sort of feels that way. After all, he has been a noontime show mainstay for many years, sharing laughter and cheer to Filipinos here and abroad.
Recently, he took on a new role as one of the hosts of TV5’s new show, Lunch Out Loud. But before their pilot episode, Billy had a few words to say.
In a heartfelt message, he paid tribute to everyone he has worked with in the past 34 years of his career, noting that he has learned so much from everyone who helped him develop his skills along the way.
He also gave thanks to his previous network and colleagues for helping shape him as a person, and giving him a chance to meet his wife, Coleen.
On the same day, Vice Ganda jokingly names Billy as the winner of a Twitter contest on Showtime. This, however, was all in good fun (probably Meme Vice missing her bestie?) because in an interview between Vice Ganda and The Crawfords, Billy and Coleen, they have established that their love and friendship transcends shows and networks. Vice tells tearful Billy, “Kahit saang bahay man tayo mapunta, family kita, at mahal na mahal kita.”
You can watch the video below:
Vice also sends her love through a tweet saying, “Congratulations sa lahat ng Kapamilya artists (former and present)!!! You rule! O loko!”
In his message on Lunch Out Loud, Billy Crawford also shed some light on some of the hardships artists are going through. He shares, “Kami rin pong mga artista ay nakaranas ng kadiliman. Talagang walang pinalampas itong pandemyang ito para sa ating lahat. Ika nga tayong lahat ay tinamaan.” (We, artists, have also experienced dark times. This pandemic really didn’t spare anyone – we are all affected.)
“We are all facing dark times, but as expected, the grace of God will always deliver, even in dark times.”
“We are all facing dark times, but as expected, the grace of God will always deliver, even in dark times,” Billy said, ending his message on a hopeful note.
You can catch Billy Crawford on Lunch Out Loud, Mondays to Fridays, 12NN on TV 5.
