With the numerous trophies she has received this year alone, Millennial Multi-hyphenate Nadine Lustre is unquestionably one of the most awarded artists of her generation.
The Multimedia Princess worked her way up. It was not an overnight success. Nadine started as early as seven years old by auditioning for commercials and print ads, among others.
It was only five years ago when she got her biggest break, “Diary ng Panget,” with reel-to-real life partner, Multimedia Prince James Reid.
Since then, a lot of achievements and projects started pouring in from phenomenal teleseryes, blockbuster movies, chart- topping songs, to sold out concerts.
She is so on top of her game. Aside from being an actress and an all around performer, Nadine has also gone to directing music videos and creating her own makeup and fragrance line.
That leads us to the question, “Is there anything she can’t do?” Just this year, Nadine bagged three Best Actress awards from some of the most prestigious award-giving bodies in the country – the Young Critics Circle, FAMAS, and Gawad Urian.
In an interview with MYX Philippines, she was asked about her reaction to being the youngest and the fourth artist to have won those three awards in a single year, next to Nora Aunor (1990), Elizabeth Oropresa (2000), and Gloria Romero (2001).
“Huh?! That was my reaction,” Nadine said. “Medyo matagal ‘yung interval eh from the other awardees, so I was really shocked, but then really thankful kasi iba din naman talaga yung makatanggap ka ng mga ganung klase ng awards,” she explained.
Nadine previously stated that her wins are extra special because she was going through a hard time while they were filming the movie, “Never Not Love You.”
“Parang once in a lifetime lang and it’s really parang you’re making a mark eh. Parang ‘yun ‘yung sabi nila sa ‘kin ‘pag nakakuha ka ng mga awards na ‘yun,” the multi-awarded actress added.
What sets her apart from others is she is never not brave to accept roles that has never been done before. After portraying “Joanne Candelaria,” Nadine was also praised as “Maya” in the magic realism film, “Ulan.”
Now, after more than two decades since the last Filipino dance movie, Nadine headlines the biggest dance musical of the year, “Indak,” with total performer, Sam Concepcion. Watch the trailer below!
