Cafe assistant? Brand manager? No. Millennial Multi-hyphenate Nadine Lustre is a GRAND SLAM BEST ACTRESS WINNER!

Inside Showbiz

We’re in the middle of the awards night season and it has been raining Best Actress trophies for the Multimedia Princess.

Last night, Nadine bagged her third Best Actress recognition and her very first Urian during the 42nd Gawad Urian Awards held at Cine Adarna, UP Film Center.

Nadine was hailed Best Performer of the Year by the Young Critics Circle last March. She also received Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role at FAMAS awards a month ago.

Winning these awards given by three of the most prestigious film industry award-giving bodies in the country proves that Nadine is indeed one of the best actresses of her generation.

She also dominated this year’s MYX Music Awards by winning four categories: Music Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Movie Soundtrack of the Year (with James Reid).

From the girl who was told that she will never make it, the Millennial Multi-hyphenate is now included in the list of top-tier artists in the Philippines.

Her award-caliber portrayal of “Joanne Candelaria” in the movie, “Never Not Love You,” with onscreen and real life partner, James Reid, is truly off the charts.

“Ibinibigay ng Gawad Urian para sa Best Actress kay Nadine Lustre para sa pelikulang Never Not Love You dahil sa kanyang malalim na pagkaunawa at pagganap sa karakter ng isang babaeng panandaliang itinabi ang pansariling pangarap, ibinuhos ang panahon sa minamahal, at nabigyan ng pagkakataong maunawaan ang sarili at magpakatotoo sa dakong huli,” said U.P. Professor Emeritus for Film, Dr. Grace Javier Alfonso as she presented the award.

Nadine is the youngest and the fourth artist who won YCC, FAMAS, and Urian Best Actress in a single year. Other actresses include Nora Aunor (1990), Elizabeth Oropresa (2000), and Gloria Romero (2001).

Meanwhile, after her coming-of-age and critically acclaimed film, “Ulan,” Nadine will show us once again how versatile she is on her upcoming dance movie, “Indak,” with Sam Concepcion.
