While it was based on the South Korean film of the same title (directed by Lee Hwan-kyung), the masterful re-telling by the Director Nuel Crisostomo Naval and its talented ensemble, starring Aga Muhlach, Bela Padilla and Xia Vigor, gave a fresh yet moving take on the beloved drama.
On Sunday, the 51st Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Box-Office Entertainment Awards announced its line-up of winners through Youtube and TV 5.
The distinguished award-giving body recognized the contributions of Miracle in Cell No. 7 to the field of Film, thereby honoring it with five awards throughout the show.
The daddy-daughter dynamic of Aga Muhlach and Xia Vigor in Miracle No. 7 earned them the titles of Box Office King and Box Office Queen.
The cast’s moving performances merited them multiple awards, with Bella Padilla being recognized as the Best Supporting Actress of the Year and Joel Torre as the Best Supporting Actor of the Year. A much-deserved award for Best Acting Ensemble in a Movie was also given to the entire cast.
