Anne Curtis will be starring in her next big role in the upcoming horror flick, “Aurora.”

It is an official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival and was directed by Yam Laranas.

“Aurora” is the story of of Leana who will be looking for dead bodies in the sea in exchange for a huge sum of money after the passenger ship, Aurora collides in a rocky part of their island. The story takes place in a beach somewhere in Batanes.

It can be remembered back in 2014 that while filming for the fantaserye “Dyesebel,” Anne had a fatal encounter with a box jellyfish in a beach in Batangas. Now that her movie takes place in the sea, was she afraid to swim?

Anne shared during the media conference of “Aurora” last Friday, December 7, “I got stung by a jellyfish. I had a very deadly sting nung ako si Dyesebel by a box jellyfish in Batangas. You know, I’m not scared of water. I’m not scared of swimming in deep water. Ang fear ko lang talaga ay jellyfish.

“Pero natutunan ko naman na to ask kaagad, always ask the locals wherever you decide to go swimming kung ano yung dapat parang to be aware of or to be wary of the waters sa kanila.

“You can ask Direk Yam, lahat ng mga stunts ko dito, swimming stunts, gusto ko talaga gawin lalo na sa Batanes. Sabi ko, ‘Direk, wala ba akong underwater scene dito?'”

Anne and Direk Yam revealed that the latter did not want to risk the former’s safety.

“Ayaw ko po kasing i-risk kahit si Anne matapang at kayang-kaya niya, kaya lang po yung location namin, nagbabanggaan po yung North Pacific Ocean tsaka West Philippine Sea,” Direk Yam shared.

“Dalawang open water po yung nagbabanggaan dun at makikita po ninyo sa trailer, si Marco at si Allan Paule, nawawala-wala na sila sa alon. Teka, ayoko yatang ilagay si Anne Curtis dun. Baka biglang mawala sa alon. But as a swimmer, si Anne is an expert so I didn’t have to worry about that.”
