Multimedia Sweetheart Anne Curtis is truly unstoppable as she conquers the big screen once again in the thriller film “Aurora” directed by Pinoy Hollywood filmmaker Yam Laranas.

After two blockbuster movies such as “Buy Bust” and “Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story,” we are about to see Anne in a totally different role as “Leana” in “Aurora.”

“Iba ang makikita niyo dito from the cinematography, to the music nga naman na talagang world class, the location, the acting, the color grading, lahat iba dito.”

“Buy Bust” is an action-pack movie while “Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story” is a romance drama with Dingdong Dantes. It was ten years ago when Anne last joined the Metro Manila Film Festival with the critically acclaimed “Baler” together with Jericho Rosales.

“Iba rin siya sa lahat ng ginawa ko this year kaya sobra akong excited at siyempre nagbabalik din ako sa genre ng horror pero kay Direk Yam, ang bago kong nadiscover na genre ay elevated horror,” Anne revealed.

Anne’s first horror movie is “Ika-13 Kapitulo” in 2000 while the second one is “Wag Kang Lilingon” in 2006.

“When you say elevated horror, there is a clear, parang story-driven siya, character-driven siya. Parang susundan mo yung kwento pero at the same time, tinatakot ka pero excited kang malaman yung story. Hindi yung tipong tatakutin ka lang for the sake of takutan,” Direk Yam explained.

Direk Yam is the highly acclaimed director of “Sigaw” (2004) which was turned into a Hollywood film entitled “The Echo” (2008), “The Road,” and “Abomination.”

“For Aurora, we want to elevate. In fact this is not a declaration, pero more of the genre type na ini-elevate namin yung storytelling but with a horror twist, he said.

After the ship, Aurora, sunk near their island, everybody knows that their hometown is doomed. But after Leana made a deal with the families of the missing passengers, she and her 8-year old sister, Rita, choose to stay in the island and keep their hotel open in case any of the dead bodies will be washed ashore. However, as days go by, ghosts begin to bother and haunt their seemingly normal life in the island.
